What are Math and Science?
Mathematics refers to the study of numbers and their operations, as well as of abstractions and space. Earth science is a broad term referring to the sciences involved in the study of the Earth, and physical science refers to the sciences that study the nature of energy and matter.
Engineering as a Field
Consider all of the things that have been constructed in our world: houses, cars and reclining chairs; playground equipment, technical camping tents and tennis shoes; chemical compounds, electronic devices and farm equipment. The construction of each of these things and a plethora of others has, at some point, required the wisdom, knowledge, and guidance of an engineer. The field of engineering then is as broad as the sky is vast.
Engineers specialize in particular types of design—structural, mechanical and electronic, to name a few—and they work in a variety of capacities. Environmental engineers, for example, work to find solutions to pressing environmental problems. Civil engineers, for example, plan and design the development of infrastructure projects. Biomedical, marine, and materials engineers, for example, analyze and design medicine, build and maintain sea vessels, and design, develop, and test a range of products. Any product you can think of required or requires the brilliance, ingenuity, and skilled input of an engineer. If you are someone who has always been curious about how things are built or has always wanted to invent and design new products, the field of engineering might be a perfect field for you.

The Institute of Paper Science and Technology (IPST), an independent graduate school, offers graduate study through a broad academic program in engineering and the sciences.
Research degrees are awarded through the submission of a thesis and an oral examination.
The areas of chemistry available for advanced degree work are analytical, inorganic, organic and physical, with a particular focus on materials and biological chemistry.
Entering graduate students take coursework from a Program of Study designed to give a broad background of knowledge, while allowing specialization in one area.
The graduate program in chemistry was one of the first advanced-degree programs established at the University of Delaware, awarding its first Ph.D.s in 1948.
Chemistry in Aberdeen has been recognised as a subject in its own right since 1793, making this one of the oldest Chemistry Departments in the country.
The Graduate School of The Australian National University is a cosmopolitan academic community, attracting students from many countries and from all parts of Australia.
Faculty members in this field have research interests that range from molecular genetics to developmental and evolutionary genetics.
Polar science requires interdisciplinary approaches that include space and upper atmosphere physics, meteorology, glaciology, oceanography, geochemistry, geology, geomorphology, solid earth geophysics
The materials science program offers a master of science in materials science and a materials science option for the Ph.D. in engineering.
The Department of Physics and Astronomy offers graduate programs leading to the Master of Science (MS) and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees.
